Things to Do in Gig Harbor This June

Summer is starting to make its way to the harbor, and June is one of the best months to get out and enjoy everything our waterfront community has to offer. From local markets and live music to one of Gig Harbor’s most-loved annual traditions, there are plenty of reasons to spend time downtown, explore Uptown and soak up the beginning of summer.

Here are a few Gig Harbor events to add to your calendar this June:

Maritime Gig Festival

June 6–7 | Downtown Gig Harbor Waterfront

Kick off the summer with one of Gig Harbor’s favorite community traditions! Maritime Gig Festival brings a full weekend of waterfront fun, including local vendors, food, live entertainment and family-friendly activities.

The Grande Gig Parade begins at 10 AM on Saturday, June 6. This year’s theme is “Stars and Stripes,” celebrating classic small-town Americana and waterfront pride. The festivities continue throughout the weekend, making it the perfect excuse to spend a sunny day downtown.

Waterfront Farmers Market

Thursdays from 1–6 PM | Skansie Brothers Park

The Waterfront Farmers Market is back for the season! Stop by Skansie Brothers Park on Thursdays to shop fresh produce, flowers, baked goods, artisan items and locally made treats.

With boats in the harbor, live music in the park and plenty of nearby spots to grab coffee or lunch, this is one of my favorite ways to spend an afternoon in Gig Harbor.

Wonders of the Waterfront Walking Tours

Saturdays at 10 AM | Gig Harbor Waterfront

Looking for a fun way to learn more about the place we call home? The seasonal Wonders of the Waterfront walking tours return on Saturdays throughout the summer. These tours are a great opportunity to explore the waterfront, enjoy the scenery and discover more about Gig Harbor’s unique character.

Gig Harbor Plant Swap

June 13 from 10–11 AM | Uptown Gig Harbor

Whether you have a green thumb or you are just starting your garden, the Gig Harbor Plant Swap is a fun way to meet other local gardeners. Bring plants, cuttings, seeds, gardening tools or advice to share.

The swap will take place in the south parking lot near HomeGoods at Uptown Gig Harbor.

Fest 4 All Make Music Day

June 21 from 11:30 AM–8 PM | Uptown Gig Harbor

Celebrate the summer solstice with a full day of live music at Uptown Gig Harbor. Fest 4 All Make Music Day brings performances to the pavilion, courtyard and other areas throughout Uptown.

This free community event is a great way to support local performers, enjoy the sunshine and spend the day strolling through the shops and restaurants.

Pride in the Park

June 27 from 11 AM–4 PM | Skansie Brothers Park

Pride in the Park returns to the waterfront for a colorful, welcoming celebration of community, belonging and joy. Spend the afternoon at Skansie Brothers Park enjoying live entertainment, local vendors, food and family-friendly activities.

Monday Movie Night

June 29 at 6:30 PM | Galaxy Theatres at Uptown

Wrap up the month with a movie night! The Gig Harbor Film Festival hosts a screening at Galaxy Theatres on the last Monday of each month. Check the festival’s event page closer to the date for the June movie selection and ticket details.
